Should’ve gone to Specsavers … Red Dragon Ball

Fortunately WE DID ! …. And what a spectacular evening it was.

The 2013 Red Dragon Ball was Specsavers bi-annual ball for the 500+ Guernsey staff, plus partners. In all there were 800 people at the Welsh themed ball. We sat down to a scrumptious meal including Welsh leek Caerphilly cheese and succulent Welsh lamb. There was entertainment from the “Welsh Boys Aloud”, local male voice choir, followed up with surprise guests singer Katherine Jenkins and comedian Rob Brydon.

I have to say that I’m not a huge fan of the operatic style of singing but I’m thinking again after hearing Katherine Jenkins truly sublime voice singing both classical and popular songs. The whole audience was enraptured by her voice, she was a joy to listen to.

Rob Brydon was his usual funny and entertaining self, wittily dealing with a ‘lady’ who had clearly imbibed a little too much vino and who had climbed up on stage and proceeded to bear hug him 😀

The evening was nicely rounded up in the Red Dragon Night club, complete with podium dancing ‘Welsh girls’.
